Mr. Max Murray Minnich's Obituary
Max Murray Minnich of Pinellas Park, Florida passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, March 14, 2018 in his home. He was 92.
Max was born December 20, 1925 in Liberty Center, Ohio; the beloved son of the late Orr and Grace Minnich. He attended Bowling Green State University where he earned three football letters, a basketball letter, and a track letter during his time in the BG orange and brown.
Maxed joined the Navy and proudly served during WWII. After the war concluded and he was honorably discharged from the Navy, Max returned to Bowling Green continuing his education and athletically, focused strictly on football. As a junior, he was second on the team in rushing with 380 yards, while catching passes for another 224 yards. As a senior, Minnich scored six touchdowns, including a 73-yard punt return. Minnich signed with the Los Angeles Rams of the NFL after his time as a Bowling Green Falcon and he was inducted to the BGSU Athletic Hall of Fame in 1999.
Professionally, Max was a gifted educator obtaining his Master’s in Education from the University of Michigan. He taught Science at the high school and junior high school level before securing a position as a principal from which he ultimately retired.
