Matilde Wilder Johnston's Obituary
On December 19, 2021, Matilde “Tillie” Johnston passed away peacefully in her sleep. She was 100 years old, just two weeks short of her 101st birthday. A Floridian for over 75 years, Tillie was the mother of three daughters who were proud to call her “mom”. She always provided support and love for her family and her husband “Johnny” worked tirelessly to provide safe and loving opportunities for their kids. Tillie was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Wilder Johnston, in 2006. They were married for 66 years. She is survived by her 3 daughters, 7 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services (only) will be held on Wednesday, December 29th at 11am at Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Petersburg, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of her to Eternal Family Project, a girls home in Honduras, founded by one of her granddaughters and can be sent to PO Box 171, Hiram, GA 30141 or on their website.
