Mary S Wallace's Obituary
Mary S. Wallace of St. Petersburg, Florida passed away peacefully on Saturday March 9th, 2019 after a long battle with cancer. She was 76.
Mary was born December 11th, 1942 in Savannah, Ga, the beautiful daughter of the late Robert Roundtree and Florine Mells. Mary moved to St. Petersburg, FL when she was 14 where she attended Gibbs High School. After high school, she began a career with the Essilor Lens Company where she worked until retirement. Seeking a new challenge she began work within the Pinellas County School system for a number of years. Mary was a former member of the St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church and a devoted woman of faith whose last words were “I’m Going Home”.
Survivors include three sons: Terry D. Wallace of Maryland, Herman A. Wallace and Kenneth Wallace of Florida; four daughters: Cheryl A. Smith, Janice D. McLaurin, Carol Wallace all of St. Petersburg, and DelBria J. Wallace-Castelow of Maryland; 19 grandchildren and a host of great and great great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and two sisters.
