Mary B Rieth's Obituary
Mary B. Rieth, 88, of St. Petersburg, Florida passed away December 25, 2016.
Mary was born April 5, 1928 in Miami, Florida to Andrew H. Baxter and Mildred Higgins. She was a registered nurse and received her training at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Mary married her husband, George R. Rieth on February 1, 1955 in New Orleans, Louisiana. After George completed his medical training in 1959 they moved to Florida. George established a medical practice in orthopedics in St. Petersburg with Dr. James L. West. Mary made a home for her husband and six children on Snell Isle. After raising their children, Mary returned to nursing at St. Anthony’s Hospital for several years.
Mary enjoyed travel, sewing, playing the piano, singing in the church choir, and visiting with her children and grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her husband George and her two sisters, Alice Tuegel and Barbara LiVigni. She is survived by daughters Mary (Peter) Jermann, Margaret Bush, and Martha (David) Hodierne, sons George Rieth, Michael (Karyn) Rieth, and Paul (Elena) Rieth, and eleven grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home, St. Petersburg, Florida on Monday, January 2, 2017 at 10:30 a.m.
