Martin Arbelo Rivera's Obituary
Martin Arbelo Rivera, known affectionately as Tito, passed away on November 24, 2025, at the age of 67, in St. Petersburg, Florida. Born on March 22, 1958, in New York, New York, Tito led a life marked by passion, patriotism, and artistic achievement.
Tito's career as a dancer was nothing short of illustrious. He was a three-time British Professional Show Dance Champion and a World Finalist. His remarkable talent also led him to become an International Royal Albert Hall Latin Semi-Finalist. Beyond the accolades, Tito was a passionate dance instructor who inspired countless students with his dedication and skill.
A true patriot at heart, Tito loved his country deeply. His interests were diverse and profound—he was an exceptional Flamenco guitar player, an avid golfer, and a sports car enthusiast. His love for fishing was well-known among his friends and family, as were his deep spiritual commitments. Tito's greatest passion was studying scripture, which guided him throughout his life.
Tito is survived by his sisters, Milagros Mercado and Charito Soto; his former wife, Denise Rivera; and a host of nieces and nephews: Amos, Nelson, Natasha, Raul, Georgie, Isaiah, Denise, Edwin, William, Antonio, Angelina, Angel, Joshua, Moses, and Maranatha. He also leaves behind many extended family members and close friends. He was dearly loved by the community. Tito was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lopez Rivera, and his brothers, Socrates Lopez, Edwin Rivera, and George Rivera.
A service to honor Tito's life will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 1:30 PM at Memorial Park Funeral Home. The viewing will start at 11:00 AM.
