Martha Victoria Bourquardez's Obituary
Martha Victoria Bourquardez, 97, of St. Petersburg, Florida passed away on November 26, 2023 in the care of the wonderful staff at AccentCare Hospice. Born on October 31, 1926 in Osteen, Florida to her parents Mitchell and Bessie Hilliard, Martha resided in Florida her whole life and was known to her family as the most wonderful mother and an exceptional cook whose fried chicken, mac & cheese, and coconut cake were considered to be heavenly specialties. Her family also knew her to be an avid reader with a love for romance novels as well as a lover of crossword puzzles, a hobby she maintained to the very end.
Martha is preceded in death by her parents, Mitchell and Bessie, as well as her husband, Earl H. Bourquardez; son Glen Bourquardez; brothers Albert Hilliard and MJ (Bud) Hilliard; sisters Amy Cogburn, Virginia Holland, and Betty Grimes; and granddaughters Sheila and Lisa Bourquardez. She is survived by her loving son, Earl Bourquardez, her daughter-in-law Nelda Bourquardez; grandson Alexander and grandaughter-in-law Stephanie Bourquardez and great-grandson Pius Bourquardez; great-grandchildren Trevor, Greg, Hannah, and Savannah; sister Bert Conway; as well as her best friend, Denise Swain of Sanford, FL, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins and friends in the St. Pete area who she deeply cherished. Martha will be deeply missed and always remembered by those who love her and hold her memory dear.
The family would like to extend their highest gratitude to the nurses, aides, and doctors at AccentCare Hospice, as well as the many caregivers who all took such wonderful care of Martha. You are deeply appreciated.
There will be a public visitation from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home in St. Petersburg, FL followed by a graveside service conducted at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Webster, FL.
