Marion Mabel Louise Hutchins' Obituary
Marion Mabel Louise Hutchins, 89, passed away on February 27, 2025, in St. Petersburg, Florida. She was born on December 4, 1935, in Lowville, New York, to the late Lansing Marvin Mashaw and Mary A. Rhone Mashaw Moshier.
Marion had a sharp wit and a love for life’s simple pleasures. She was an avid crossword puzzle enthusiast, a devoted soap opera viewer, and a passionate bingo player. Her love of reading was endless, and she always found joy in a good book.
Throughout her career, Marion worked in manufacturing and caregiving. She was employed at Mele & Company in Utica, New York, where she helped craft jewelry boxes, and at Lally Mfg. Corp. in Port Leyden, New York, where she contributed to producing thermal undergarments for Army and Navy soldiers. Later in life, she worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant in Florida.
Marion was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roy E. Hutchins, whom she married on St. Patrick’s Day in 1979; he passed away in 2003. She was also predeceased by her son, William E. Hutchins, who passed in 1986, as well as her brothers Robert Mashaw and Howard Mashaw.
She is survived by her daughter Maria Aola Booth; stepchildren Roy Hutchins Jr., Peter Hutchins, Mary Fradenburg, Pauline Bauer, Cathy Napierkowski, Nancy Lowry, Sue Duncan, and Barbara Foley; her brother Rodney Mashaw (Glorian); and sisters-in-law Sherie Mashaw and Audrey Ross "Mashaw." She also leaves behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren who will cherish her memory.
Marion’s warmth and humor will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
