Marilyn Ann Fischer's Obituary
Marilyn Ann Fischer (née Freiter), aged 86, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026, in Largo, Florida. Born on November 10, 1939, in Cleveland, Ohio, Marilyn lived a life marked by dedication to her family and community.
Marilyn's professional journey was diverse and fulfilling. She spent several years at American Greeting, where she combined her love for crafting with her administrative skills, creating seasonal corsages that were much admired. However, Marilyn often fondly recalled her time at Cedar Point, where she worked in admissions and customer service, always ensuring visitors started their amusement park experience with a smile. Her passion for fishing, particularly for walleye and perch, reflected her love for the outdoors and was a hobby she cherished throughout her life.
Marilyn was the heart of a close-knit family. She and her beloved husband Frederick, who preceded her in death, were married for 65 years, building a life filled with love and laughter. She was a loving mother to Jeff Fischer, Marcia Fischer Caskey (Lewis), and Julie Fischer Kisel (Paul). Marilyn took immense pride in her role as a grandmother to Michael Maldonaldo (Matt Graham), Abby Fischer Castle (Brian), Clare Fischer Riley (Matt), Adam Maldonaldo, and Tyler Spruill. The joy of her family expanded with the arrival of her great-granddaughters, Nora Riley and Molly Castle.
Marilyn was also preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Margaret Perry, and her sister, Gail Lesniak. Her life was enriched by her involvement in a "girls club," where she shared annual trips and events, creating lasting memories with her friends.
Services in Ohio are planned for Saturday, June 13, at St. Coleman with interment to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made out to them for distribution to various charities.
Marilyn's warmth, kindness, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
