Leslie Waters
Bob,
The "Profoundly Ordinary Life," memorial you wrote for your mother, Marie Hughes, was very touching and was a most delightful read down memory lane. I have shared it with many. I did not know your mother, but her life shadowed my deceased Mother's wonderful life (and mine as a kid) in many ways. Maas Brothers, I am still mad they moved from downtown and eventually closed; Webb's City and their 9 cent French vanilla icecream cones;the Evening Independent was free on days the sun did not shine; you dressed-up to go downtown, to go to church, and when you took an airplane flight; WSUN and of course WLCY, WALT radio. "Back in the day"... brings smiles to my face. I am sure your mother is smiling too at such a wonderful Tribute. May Marie rest-in-peace.
