Martinez Rodriguez, Mariano's Obituary
Mariano Martínez Rodriguez (1936-2025) who was originally from Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico and lived/worked in NYC until his retirement, passed away to be with his Creator on Friday, December 19th, 2025. He was 89 years old. His parents were Epifanio Martinez and Marcela Rodriguez. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Leonides, his daughters Yolanda and Elen; and stepsons/daughter Antonio, Mike, and Maria, as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Loving husband, father, stepdad, grandfather, and great-grandfather Mariano enjoyed playing in a softball league in his younger life, spending time with family, the beach, gardening, and eating good food. He was also gifted at playing dominoes, was a skilled handyman, craftsman and artisan who crafted Puerto Rican instruments with his hands. He served in the Army as an enlisted private in Puerto Rico. A generous (he raised his niece Marcy), intelligent, kind, and humble man, Mariano will be sorely missed. May God grant him eternal peace.
