Maria Teresa Sotolongo's Obituary
Maria Teresa Sotolongo, 92, of St. Petersburg, FL passed away September 9, 2023. She was born on December 24, 1930 in Cuba to Gerardo Aguirre and Ana Perez. Maria came to the United Stated in the 60’s and completed her Master’s Degree so that she could teach education. She taught Spanish for the Pinellas County Schools, mostly at Meadowlawn Middle School, until her retirement. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Dr. Leglio Sotolongo. Survivors include her children, Carmen (Jack) Kelly, Leglio Sotolongo, and Jorge (Tonna) Sotolongo; sister, Anna (Gus) Hernandez, grandchildren, John, Tere, Abby, Jamie, Miranda, Maralla, and Leyla; and 5 ½ great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 11:00Am on Friday, Sept 15 at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5750 49th St N, St. Petersburg followed by interment at Memorial Park Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
