Margarita Veytia's Obituary
VEYTIA, Margarita, 105, of St. Petersburg, FL passed away July 24, 2023. She was born in Honduras on April 8, 1918, to Ramon and Maria Lopez. Margarita moved with her family to Miami, FL in 1959, after a short stay in Cuba. She and her husband Peter, moved to St. Petersburg in 1981 to be closer to their son Peter Jr., who had moved to St Pete earlier to start what would become a local landmark group of restaurants, the Red Mesa Group. She was preceded in death by her husband Peter Veytia Sr. in 2012. Survivors include her children, Ana Adler, Peter (Shawn) Veytia Jr., and Edgar Veytia; grandchildren, James (Alisa) Adler, Peter (Michele) Veytia III, Daniel (Alice) Veytia, and Charles Veytia; and great grandchildren, Peter Veytia IV, Ryder Veytia, Alexandra Adler, and Ryan Adler. The family will receive friends at 1:00pm on Friday, July 28 at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5750 49th St N, St. Petersburg followed by a graveside service at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is suggesting a donation to Suncoast Hospice.
