Mrs. Margaret Ann Bair's Obituary
Margaret (Peggy)Steuernagel Bair passed away Saturday, May 26th, 2018 at the age of 89. Peggy was born on December 8, 1928 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Margaret Pearl Greiner and Raymond William Steuernagel. Peggy had one brother, Raymond William Steuernagel, Jr. who died in WW2 at the age of 19.
On June 7, 1947 Peggy married Donald Oliver Bair, Jr. They had two children and spent their lives moving to many cities throughout the country for business reasons. Always motivated and energetic. Peggy made many lifelong friends, joined many organizations and served in leadership capacities in quite a few. She was a wonderful, devoted and beloved mother, mother in law and grandmother who will be dearly missed.
In their retirement years, Peggy and Don returned to central Florida and lived in Treasure Island and St. Pete Beach. With her customary enthusiasm, Peggy refused to be elderly, and created a productive life by being involved in her church and local woman’s organization. She was a charter member of Friendship Community Church where she helped organize and run a thrift shop to help fund a new church building. She was a great example and friend! Don passed away very suddenly in 2010 after 63 years of marriage.
Peggy has spent the last 6 years at the Aston Gardens Inn in Tampa in the memory care unit. Her family is very thankful for the kind and thoughtful care she received there. During this time her daughter in law, Nancy provided constant loving support.
Peggy is survived by her daughter, Barbara Bair Grubbs (Bill), her son, Steven Oliver Bair, (Nancy), 5 grandchildren, Taylor Grubbs Larson, Preston Grubbs, Carter Grubbs, Haley Grubbs George, Donna Bair Dellerman and 9 great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death is a grand daughter Michelle Bair.
