Marcus Bohrer Krest's Obituary
Marcus B. Krest, passed away March 15, 2018 in St. Petersburg where he has been lovingly cared for by his youngest daughter, Linda. Marcus, a beloved father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather (Thank you Phillip), he was always there to give good advice if asked but knew the wisdom of allowing you to learn the lessons of making mistakes and how to use that knowledge to grow as a person. He always told me it wasn’t important to know everything. What you need to teach your children is, if they don’t know something, how to find out about it. In our day is was books, today the children have computers. Dad was in the Navy for 10 years, having served in the WWII, Korean War; he signed up after graduating from Manchester High School in Connecticut. He married and started his family, buying his first home in Lake Wood Heights, Coventry, CT in 1947. He lost his first wife early but met and married his sole mate Orissa Lee, who helped him raised his four children: Sandi Krest Gray, Craig Krest, Wendy Krest Hansen and Linda Lee Krest Harper. All his children grew up and graduated from Coventry High School. He loved the town and the lake. The saddest day of his life was when he lost Orissa on November 22, 2011. He leaves behind along with his children; 9 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great granddaughters and 1 great-great grandson. He has been in a state of sadness for the last seven years without the love of his life by his side, we pray she was there with open arms to embrace him as he transitioned to the afterlife and they are both now at peace.
At this time the service date and time is still pending, please check back again soon.
