Maja Liane Lubbe's Obituary
Maja Liane Lubbe, 101, of St. Petersburg, FL passed away June 30, 2023. She was born on September 16, 1921 in Germany to Axel F. W. and Paula Lubbe. Germany had fallen under Nazi rule, so Maja’s father sent Maja and her mother to the United States for safety she was 14. She lived many years in NY and then sailed the Queen Elizabeth to Italy where she studied opera for 5 years. Maja enjoyed working with several Opera stars before moving to Florida in 1961 to take care of her mother. She absolutely loved the United States and was very patriotic! For years, people got to know her as the Fuller Brush and Avon lady as she peddled her goods around town. Maja made several friends from her journeys. Survivors include her dear friends, Sue Mueller, Cheri Wieder, Marie Papa, and Terry Book. A graveside service will take place on a later date at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5750 49th St N, St. Petersburg, FL.
