Mrs. Mabel Peper Easton's Obituary
EASTON, Mabel Peper 93, passed away on December 25,2011. She was born in Winter Haven, Fl, attended Florida Southern College where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. She was co- owner/operator of Turner Plantation Dairies in Tampa with her husband James B. Turner for many years. She enjoyed yacht racing on Big Toy especially the St. Petersburg to Havana races and many others . She married Thomas W. Easton in 1973 and enjoyed her new found family. She traveled worldwide, loved cruising with her family and the KLB. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, St. Petersburg Yacht Club, Salty Sisters, Civitan Club, Past President of the Stuart Society of the Museum of Fine Arts, The Art Center Board, The Florida Symphony Guild, Family Services Center, The Anthonians of St. Anthony's Hospital, St Anthony's Auxiliary, Ruth Eckerd Hall Life Member, Leading Ladies of PACT, Florida Orchestra Guild, The Club at Innisbrook, Suncoast Heart Association, member of the 1980 Queen of Hearts Court, St. Petersburg Womens Club, Friends of Eckerd College Library, St Petersburg Panhellenic Association and was 1986 Woman of the Year- Eleanor Jones Tanner Memorial Award,. Mabel was one of the original residents in the Bayfront Tower Condominium. Both she and Tom loved to lift people up, so after Tom's death in 1986, she dedicated the elevator to the 29th floor in Bayfront Tower. She was a member for many years of the Temple Terrace Community Church where she dedicated the stained glass windows in loving memory of Tom. She is survived by her Step-daughter, Sally E. Simpson, St. Petersburg: Step-daughter-in-Law, Cherie Easton; Grandchildren: Shannon Ramsire, Tampa; Trevor Simpson, St. Petersburg; Mike Easton, Tampa; Kimberly Benson, Pooler, Ga; Mark Easton, West Palm Beach; Cousin George Mundorf, New York; and 5 Great-Grandchildren and many loving friends. A celebration of Mabel's life will be held, Friday, Dec. 30, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at First Presbyterian Church, 701 Beach Drive, St. Petersburg with Rev. David Hosick officiating.
