Lincoln "Robby" Robinson's Obituary
Lincoln (Robby) Robinson, 90, passed away at home peacefully on Wednesday August 30, 2017 surrounded by loving family. Robby, born in Utica, Illinois was a caring and loving husband to wife Sylvia, loving father to children David (Pattie), Beverly (Steven), Grandchildren Tabitha (Matt), Heather (Michael), and twin brothers Brian and Nathan. He was a larger than life “Grandpa” and they loved him dearly. Heather recently blessed Grandpa with his first Great Granddaughter Quinn, she has most certainly gained another special angel who will protect her from above.
Mr. Robinson had an extensive military career. A WWII Veteran, he Joined the Navy at age 16 and continued post war with a career in the United States Air Force. At age 17 serving in the Pacific theater he witnessed General Mc Arthur walk to the beach with his troops at the Battle of Leyte, Lincoln at the time was on a navy vessel responsible for launching LST landing craft. Under heavy fire he was injured by a machine gun and was awarded the Purple Heart. Lincoln retired in 1966 after twenty plus years of service. He will be buried with military honors.
