Lillian Edwards' Obituary
Edwards, Lillian B., passed away peacefully on September 21, 2022 in Largo at the age of 96. Lillian was born in Chicago, IL, on June 9, 1926 to Mate’ and Marie Brkan. She moved to St. Petersburg in 1950, finding employment at the St. Petersburg Times (now the Tampa Bay Times). It was at the newspaper she met her husband, Stanley Edwards (deceased), and had two children -- a daughter, Leanne, and a son, Timothy. Lillian settled in Seminole and remained at the Times for 32 years, retiring in 1988 from the AMC Department. In retirement, she moved to Orlando to be close to her daughter and her daughter's family, returning to Seminole in 2018. She is predeceased by her sister, Bess Fiklik. She is survived by her daughter, Leanne McKelvey (Tim) of Seminole, FL; her son, Timothy Edwards, of Los Angeles, CA; and grandchildren Andrew, Megan, Lily, Avery & Sarah. We take comfort in knowing that all of her days will now be good ones, likely filled with card games, bowling, and reuniting with missed loved ones. A good garage sale would be icing on the cake. When asked what made her happy, she would reply, “If my kids are happy then I am happy.” Full of sass and salt, love and laughs, she will always be in our hearts.
The family is very grateful for the loving care provided by the staff at Palm Garden of Pinellas. Lillian will be privately interred at Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Petersburg.
Her obituary also appeared in the Tampa Bay Times and can be viewed here: https://www.legacy.com/obituaries/sptimes/obituary.aspx?n=lillian-edwards&pid=202956342&fhid=7383&utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=obitshareamp&utm_content=p202956342
