Lewis James Bartholf's Obituary
Lewis James Bartholf was born on August 29, 1937, in Sidney, New York. He passed away under the compassionate care of Hospice and Aventura at the Bay in St. Petersburg, Florida, on December 20, 2022.
Lew is survived by his sons Les (Mary), and Larry; grandchildren Megan and Emily; and longtime companion Joyce Cecchi, her son Jeff (Yvette), granddaughter Michelle Meece (Shane), and great grandson Julian.
Lew was a Corporal in the United States Marines and was honorably discharged on September 11, 1965. Following his service in the Marines, Lew worked as a Senior Trainer for GTE for several decades. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Sons of the American Revolution, Brandon Elks Lodge #2383, American Legion Florida Post #400, had an Associate Technical Degree, and held an FCC RadioTelephone Operator License. Lew’s hobbies included genealogy research, calligraphy, woodworking, anything related to history, and travelling with Joyce.
As per his wishes, there will be no service. Friends are invited to make memorial contributions to the Marine Corp Heritage Foundation or the Shriners Hospital for Children.
