Leonard Lee Ginn's Obituary
Leonard Lee Ginn, 62 passed away February 18th 2020 at Bayfront Medical Center St Petersburg Florida.
He was the proud son of James Wesley and Mildred Francis Ginn; born in Augusta Georgia with his hometown of Wadley Georgia.
He is a graduate of St Petersburg High School class of 1976.
He joined the Army soon after High School. He served six years in Germany before he returned to the States. He was a Mechanic specializing and becoming an M1 Abrams tank system mechanic. He retired in 1991 as a Sergeant First Class but his pride for the Army never waned. He was a member of the local VFW Hall and he was always proud of his service to his country.
He married the love of his life in 1996, Helen. They share many years together. They both loved cats. Having many indoor and outdoor ones.
He was a member of the local BattleBots an original member of the group building at Arena for the many different fights. He battled his BattleBot Scoop many times. He was also a member of the Astronomy club of St Petersburg looking at the skies and beyond. He was also in the process of making an R2 D2 with the Southern R2 Builders Group. His hope was to completed R2 D2 to enjoy and show off to friends and family.
Leonard was an amazing big brother to Millie and Debbie. He was the best and always supportive. Many said he was a wonderful human being. But to us he was our Big Brother. Rest in peace Leonard you will be missed very much.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 11 at 1pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home 5750 49th Street North, St Petersburg, FL 33709. Immediately following the memorial service, he will laid to rest in Bay Pines Cemetery at 2:30pm.
