Leonard John Caneel's Obituary
Leonard John Caneel, 82 of St. Petersburg, Florida went home to be with the Lord on March 6, 2023.
He was born on September 29, 1940 to Leonard D. and Maria Caneel in New York, New York and was a proud Veteran of the United States Air Force. On February 6, 1965, Leonard married his lovely wife Alice and they had three children: Glen, Kim, and Kelly. In 1978, he moved his family down from Bellmawr, New Jersey to St. Petersburg, Florida after a trip to Disney World. Leonard spent much of his career in Real Estate and Appraising. He was the owner of Caneel Bay Real Estate and retired in 2011. Leonard is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Maria. Survivors include his gorgeous wife of 58 years, Alice; sister Jeanne McManus (husband Chris); children, Glen Caneel (wife Sandy), Kim Cutler (husband Scott), Kelly Smith (husband Mike); grandchildren, Chelsea, Hannah and husband Steven, Andrew, Sarah, Emilee, Aubree, Ashleigh, Nathan, and Ryan; and honorary daughter, Desiree Collins
A funeral service will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home , 5750 49st North, St. Petersburg, Florida 33709 on Monday, March 13 at 2pm followed by interment at Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors.
