Leon Peek's Obituary
Leon Peek, 72, of St Petersburg passed peacefully at home August 26, 2021.
He was born on July 6, 1949, in Alton, IL to Eldon and Olive Peek.
Leon graduated from Bond County Community Unit High School in May of 1968. He took on many ventures including being a member of The St. Louis Carpenters Union and a licensed Florida Realtor. Leon was an excellent finish carpenter by trade, and he was known as “the man who could fix anything”
He was also an advocate for the ALS registry act. In 2007, he traveled to Washington, D.C. to meet with Congress about this matter. In 2005, Leon was a special crew member for Team ALS- Bacchetta in the Race Across America.
Leon leaves behind his wife Sandra, children Eric (Melanie) Peek, Jessica (Jordan) Dominy, Brian Eskeles, Terri (Larry) Carroll, Tom Trusty, sister Twyla Janke, and sister-in-law Joanne Peek. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Elizabeth Carroll, Blake Trusty. Evan Trusty, Jaylin Eskeles, Oliver Dominy, and Henry Dominy as well as great grandchildren Marlee Carroll and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends.
Leon lived with ALS over 17 years, taking every day with grace and dignity. Leon was a very kind and loving husband and father. He now lives on without pain and suffering.
