Lawrence Earl Geiger Jr.'s Obituary
Lawrence Earl Geiger, Jr., age 79, of St. Petersburg, FL died March 9, 2022. He was born June 22, 1942, in Rockford, IL, to Lawrence Geiger Sr. and Adeline (Loy) Geiger, who preceded him in death, as did his sister, Joan Weber. He is survived by his sisters, Jan Currier of Plainfield, IN and Jill (Dale) Olson of Bloomington, IL; sons, Lawrence (Jennifer) Geiger III and David Geiger, both of Kenneth City, FL; stepdaughter Heather (James) Emanuel of Palmetto, FL; and grandchildren Melody, Joseph and Lindsey Geiger, all of Kenneth City, FL. Other survivors include four nieces, four nephews, and many relatives and friends.
Lawrence was a graduate of Rockford East High School in 1960 and Rock Valley College. After high school he enlisted in the United States Army. He worked over forty years in the machine and tool design field for Sundstrand, Arrow Engineering and W.F. and John Barnes.
Lawrence was an avid softball player for the Grasshoppers of Rockford IL, Alpine Lutheran Church of Rockford, IL, and McNally’s in St. Petersburg, FL. He also coached little league baseball. Lawrence loved fishing in the lakes of Illinois and Wisconsin, as well as the Gulf of Mexico. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren’s sporting and dance events, and his classic movie collection. Family and friends appreciated his generosity and distinctive and unique sense of humor.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 2, 2022 2PM -4PM at
Lawrence and Jennifer Geiger's House

Kenneth City, FL
In Rockford, IL, a memorial service will be held Saturday, June 11th at Alpine Lutheran Church, 5001 Forest View Ave, Rockford, IL 61108.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Special Olympics Florida.
