Larry G Brooks' Obituary
Larry G. Brooks was born in Windsor, Ontario, Canada on December 17th, 1940, and passed away peacefully at home on April 30th, 2021.
He was a unique and charismatic individual who loved his family as well as his sports and leisure activities. In true Canadian fashion, he loved hockey. He started playing in Canada, continued after moving to Michigan for college, and even played after moving to Florida. After his hockey playing days, he traded hockey sticks for golf clubs, which became one of his greatest passions in life. He also enjoyed fishing, music, watching the Tampa Bay Lightning, and spending time with his family.
He attended college at Wayne State University, where he received a degree in Civil Engineering. He went on to work in the greater West Central Florida area his entire career.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Thompson; father, George Brooks; and significant other, Elizabeth Carl.
He is survived by his children: Laura Brooks, Robert Brooks (Tammy), Ruth Brooks (Kim), and Lisa Miller (Jesse); and Grandchildren: RJ, Torrey, Kristen, Ronan, and Rachel. He is also survived by his prior wives: Sally Brooks, and Judith Brooks who remained his friends until the end.
His presence and sarcastic humor will be greatly missed, until we shall meet again.
