Laddie Joseph Holub Jr's Obituary
Ladd J. Holub was born September 6, 1926 in Cleveland, OH and passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2017. He graduated from West Technical High School in 1944. He entered the US Army in 1945 where he earned the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was blown out of a jeep in the South Pacific and laid in the jungle 3 days, after which he contracted a skin disease and spent 18 months in an army hospital. He was honorably discharged in June, 1947. He came to Florida in 1948 and worked for Johnson’s A/C and Triplet’s Drive-In at night to save money to go into business for himself. Ladd’s Air Conditioning was created and lasted for 30 years. He started Okinawan Karate in 1974, where he met two little girls, Marline and Najla Kassis, whom he grew to love as his own and got his Black Belt when he was 50. Ladd served as trustee at Park Street Baptist Church for 30 years. He was preceded in death by his brother James Holub. Ladd was married to and survived by his wife, Judy; also surviving are his 2 children Deborah Kline and Patricia Cadogan and her husband Jerry; grandson Corey Kershner and his wife Jessica; granddaughter Courtney Cadogan; great-granddaughter Adeline; stepson Dennis Moore; foster granddaughter Ashley Miller and sister Lois Dunning and her husband Les of Cleveland, OH.
