Khamkhay Lamvichit's Obituary
Khamkhay Lamvichit was born on April 6, 1946, in Dongkha, Laos, and passed away peacefully on May 19, 2025, at the age of 79. She was deeply loved by her family, friends, and community. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Khamkhan Lamvichit, 6 brothers and 6 sisters.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and strength through her children: Del (Jeff) Moore, Moe Lamvichit, Noy (Noh) Lamvichit, Nouni (Patrick) Wise, Souri (Brian) Kenyon, Khan Lamvichit, Khong Lamvichit, and Vong (Penny) Lamvichit; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Our mother was a pillar of strength, resilience, and unwavering love. She was a fighter—a courageous survivor, who dedicated her life to her family. She was, and always will be, our heroine. Without her determination and brave spirit, our family would not have made it to America. Her incredible journey led her to escape war-torn Laos with five of her children, nieces, and nephews, to reunite with our father and her brother, in Thailand. It was her strength that guided us through the darkest of times.
Mom found joy in the simple, but meaningful parts of life. She loved to dance, tend to her garden, and—true to her bold spirit—even chop down trees. She took special pride in her mango and lychee trees, which were a source of joy.
She touched many lives and was cherished by her community. Though we grieve her loss, we find comfort in knowing she is at peace—dancing, gardening, and tending to trees in her own paradise. Her spirit will live on in each of us, and she will be missed dearly.
We love you, Mom.
