Kelvin B. Tibbetts' Obituary
Tibbetts, Kelvin B., 73 of Panama City, FL passed away Oct 13, 2008 at Bay Pines V.A. Hospital. Kelvin was born January 6, 1935 on the island of Cayman Brac, Cayman Islands, BWI. He immigrated to the US at the age of 3 with his family to Port Arthur, TX in Nov. 1938. He graduated from his beloved Thomas Jefferson High School in 1953 and Lamar University in 1957 with a B.S. in Mathematics. He served in the US Army from 1958 to 1961. He then worked in the aerospace industry for AVCO, TRW Systems and Boeing Co, where he wrote the performance specifications for the Saturn-Apollo Program which took man to the moon. He went into business for himself in 1970 until he retired in 1997. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Louise; son, Kirk and wife Cris; four brothers, Ansley (Christine), Jimmy (Carolyn), Clifford and Donald (Carolyn); two sisters, Dareene Mattke and Alma Newell; and his mother, Althea, 98 of Panama City. He was preceded in death by his father Kelly and his brother Airley
