Kelly Michelle Long's Obituary
Dr. Kelly Long, 45, of Pinellas Park, Florida, passed away on February 4, 2026.
Kelly was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished daughter, and compassionate friend. She dedicated her life to caring for others—both people and animals. As a veterinarian, she was deeply passionate about helping animals and advocating for their health and well-being. Her kindness, gentle spirit, and unwavering commitment to her work touched countless families and their beloved pets throughout her career.
Above all, Kelly’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her loving husband, Brent Long; her treasured daughter, Josephine Long; her mother, Jaxie Heppner; and her sister, Amy Terzick. She was preceded in death by her father, Dennis Dunning, and her brother, Aaron Dunning.
Kelly had a special love for the beach, where she found peace in the sound of the waves and joy in time spent with those she loved most. Whether she was caring for an animal in need or sharing laughter with her family by the water, she gave her whole heart to everything she did.
Her warmth, strength, and compassion will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. Though her time with us was far too short, the love she gave so freely will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, colleagues, and the many lives—both human and animal—she touched.
At this time, no public services are scheduled.
