June Lily Hyer's Obituary
June Lily Hyer, beloved wife of the late Richard vanDommelen, passed on
January 16, 2024 at Accent Care Hospice. She was born in Hartford, CT.
October 10, 1931 to Karre and Alice LaBua Hyer.
She leaves several cousins in Connecticut including Blanche W. Shanley
of Avon, CT and daughter Pamela S. Daube of Medford, MA and son
Jon Shanley of Avon, CT. Cousins Stuart Browning of North Granby, CT. daughters Emily and Samantha, and Keith Browning of Newington, CT and daughter Carly.
June earned a B.A. in voice and violin at Hartt College of Music, Hartford.
She performed singing, dancing and playing the violin as a teenager in local nightclubs and later throughout the State. She relocated to Las Vegas where she was a violinist in the All-Girl Orchestra.
In 1976 she moved to St. Petersburg with her parents. She was employed by Franklin Templeton for many years. Recently she resided in Elison at Pinecrest, Largo.
She was a member of First Church of Christ, Scientist in Seminole
where she served as Organist. Her family is grateful for the loving support of its members.
She was a violinist, First Violinist for several years, in the Pinellas Orchestra.
She will be remembered by many as a loving, vivacious friend who brightened every occasion.
