Joseph Cruz Genilo's Obituary
Joseph Cruz Genilo was born in Queens, New York on October 19,1965 and passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at the age of 48 on April 6, 2014 at Bay Pines Verteran's Hospital, Bay Pines, Fl. Joe served in the US Navy for 9 years as an Electronics Warfare Specialist and then as an optician for several years. He is survived by his father, Camilo D. Genilo, his sister, Maria Genilo-Delgado, and his four nephews, Joshua, Justin, Jeremy and Jacob Delgado. A memorial service will be held in his honor on Thursday, April 10th, 2014 at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5750 49th Street. The viewing is at 6 pm followed by a service at 6:30. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Diabetes Association or the American Kidney Fund. Please bring your fond memories, pictures and stories to share. Joseph will be remembered fondly by his family and friends. He was taken away too soon. He was a generous, loving and an incredibly gentle soul who always put family and friends before himself. He had an ability to talk to anyone and anyone who met him became an instant friend. His dedication and love for his family, especially his four nephews, was apparent in everything he did. He will be sorely missed by many. There will be a military honors burial service at Bay Pines National Cemetary next week. Information will follow at a later date.
