Mr. John Peter Sanken Jr's Obituary
Mr. John P. Sanken, Jr of Jacksonville, Florida and formerly of Lakeland, Florida passed away peacefully Thursday, November 287, 2019 in Jacksonville. He was 91.
John was born July 9, 1928 in Brooklyn, New York; the handsome son of the late John P and Ida Sanken. He enlisted in the United States Coast
Guard in 1945 and proudly served 23+ years until his retirement in 1968 as a Lieutenant Commander. During his service, John earned the Korean Service Medal and the National Defense Ribbon with one Bronze Star.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Frances (September 12, 1997).
John is survived by his daughter, Lori Chitty of Jacksonville, Florida.
He will be laid to rest with Coast Guard honors at a graveside service 1pm Saturday, January 4, 2020 in Memorial Park Cemetery 5750 49th Street North, St Petersburg, Florida 33709.
