I first met John Rosso, during Lori’s popular years as proprietress of the Sea Breeze Manor. As Lori’s dad, John sort of became the “Patriarch” of the Manor always there with a twinkle in his eye for Gulfport celebrations and events. Early on I learned that John served in the US Navy in the late 50’s and discovered that we were both stationed on destroyers assigned to the Sixth Fleet cruising in the Mediterranean. For years after John continued to be on the water with boats of his own on the East Coast.
John went on to have a most noteworthy lifetime career in public service in several prestigious areas. Knowing John is having a friend. John was intelligent , decisive, easy to converse with, witty, a real gentleman with swagger, and in private , always had his sailors vocabulary to fall back on. He will be, and already is, sadly missed. Peaceful Voyage, John
