John P. Rimsa's Obituary
John P. Rimsa, 82 of Seminole passed away on Thursday July 7, 2016. He was born in Athol, MA and was a College Professor and a Army veteran. He graduated from Fitchburg Teacher's College and first taught at Mahar High School in Orange, MA. He later taught chemistry and physics at Cape Cod Community College in Hyannis, MA before moving to FL and teaching at SPJC until retirement. He was a leader in Cub Scout Pack 341 and assumed the role of "Akeela" the Indian leader of cub scout folklore. He was also a leader in Boy Scout Troup 340. Both scout organizations were sponsored by the United Methodist Church in Seminole.
He sang in amateur musical productions playing the role of Ben in Paint Your Wagon.
He travelled extensively after retirement but always made a trip or two each year back to the home town of Athol, MA. There were always big get togethers at his recently deceased sister's (Joanna) house where I would see him with many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins. He was born in Athol,MA. He graduated from Fitchburg Teacher's College followed by a Doctorate in Education at Univ of FLA. He taught chemistry and physics at Mahar High School , Cape Cod Comm College and St Pete Jr College . He was a Boy Scout leader . He loved to travel to all parts of the planet. Survived by companion Madeline Kooper and sons David , Daniel and Carl.
