Mr. John "Jaybird" Holden's Obituary
Holden, John W. "Jaybird", 75, of St. Petersburg, passed away on Nov. 25, 2010, after a courageous 8 month battle against brain and lung cancer. He was a loving brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. John is survived by his son Sam Holden and his wife Kathy; 2 daughters, Linda Connolly and her husband Bob and Vicki Smith and her husband Rick; and a brother Carlise Holden and his family of Barnwell, SC. John had 3 grandchildren: Valerie Scodius, Chris and Shawn Smith; 6 great-grandchildren: Miranda, Olivia, Isabelle, Dalton, Ayden and Jordan. He was preceded in death by sisters: Libby Hamel, Florence Holden and his brother, Henry Holden. He was a remarkable man who touched many people during his lifetime. He will be remembered lovingly and deeply missed. His service will be private. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to The Hospice of the Florida Suncoast.
