John C Green Jr's Obituary
John C. Green, Jr. passed away peacefully in Largo, Florida on January 11, 2018. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland on December 25, 1946 and grew up in Massapequa and Seaford, Long Island, New York. He graduated from Seaford High School before he attended the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn and as a member of Tau Epsilon Fraternity, he made many lifelong friends.
John led a geographically diverse life, essentially alternating jobs between Silicon Valley and Massachusetts’ Route 128 corridor. He loved working in the computer field and volunteered as a docent in the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, CA.
After retiring, John moved to St. Petersburg, Florida to help with his mother’s care. He also volunteered at the local C.E.R.T, his condo board, and he taught English one on one to adults.
His interests varied. John loved roller coasters, SCRABBLE, chess, reading, old movies, bicycle riding, hiking and traveling. He enjoyed being active in mind and body. He frequently traveled across the country to ride roller coasters, play SCRABBLE, raft the Grand Canyon or hike in the mountains. He also kept in touch with friends and relatives by traveling and via email. Friends and relatives were a major part of his life.
He was a great guy—funny, smart, personable, quirky, and creative. Unique!

He is survived by his sister, Mary Green of Manhattan, NY and St. Petersburg, FL and two aunts Loretta Bonhardi and Mary Murphy, uncle John Clegg, six cousins, Sharon Sick, Karen Hoffman, Rae Ellen Clegg, Patricia Murphy, Tom Bonhardi and Tom Murphy.
He will be greatly missed by the many whose lives he touched. A friend created a memorial website for him at www.forevermissed.com.
