John Edward Casey's Obituary
Casey, John Edward 93, of St. Petersburg, passed away surrounded by his loving family in Bay Pines Hospice facility. He served in the US Army as a medic in WWII. He was recognized for his distinguished service in furthering the aims and ideals of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United Sates. He served as the national president for the China, Burma, and India Veterans Association. He was an active member of the VFW post 6827, Amvets, and DAV. He was an avid bowler and golfer. Preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Alice Casey and son, Jack Casey. Survived by his loving daughter, Ruthanne (Jim) McVey; Daughter-in-law, Debbie Casey; his loving sister, Katherine Byron; grandchildren, Missy, Sean, Jennifer, and Jacque; 14 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 29 at 6:00 pm with a celebration of life reception to follow at the VFW post 6827, 4145 34th Street North, St. Petersburg, FL. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the VFW post 6827.
