Joan Lillian Keuntje, a remarkable woman of strength and dedication, passed away at home with family on June 24, 2023, at the age of 86 in Pinellas Park, FL. She was born on April 28, 1937, in Ridgewood, New York, to loving parents Henry and Katherine Keuntje. Joan's life was filled with remarkable achievements and unwavering commitment to her family and career.
In her earlier years, Joan served as a Secretary for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the New York City office. Her exceptional skills and dedication earned her a reputation for excellence. After starting her family, Joan moved to Arizona in 1974 and continued her work as an Administrative Secretary for the FBI in the Phoenix Office.
In 1980, Joan relocated to Florida, where she embraced her role as the Chief of Police's Administrative Secretary for the City of Pinellas Park, working closely with Chief David Milchan. Her remarkable organizational abilities and commitment to her work made her an indispensable asset to the department. Joan's years of service were recognized, and she retired in 1998, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism and integrity. In retirement she enjoyed baking, sewing, quilting, and spending time with her dog Beejer.
Joan will be lovingly remembered by her children, Robert L. Lanese Jr., Jody L. Martin, Joanne K. Jarvis, Bonnie C. Lanese, as well as her grandchildren, Amber L. Civello, and Robert L. Lanese III. Her great grandson, Eugene M. Civello Jr., was a precious joy in her life. She was a dedicated and caring mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, always providing love and support to her family.
To honor Joan's life and bid her farewell, a funeral service will be held at an 10:00 am on Monday, July 3, 2023, at Memorial Park Funeral Home, located at 5750 49th St N, St. Petersburg. Following the service, Joan will be laid to rest at Memorial Park. Prior to the service, the family will receive friends for one hour, providing an opportunity to share cherished memories and offer condolences.
Joan Lillian Keuntje will be profoundly missed, but her memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her family and friends find solace in the beautiful memories they shared.
