Laura Bell Moore
Jerry was born the day after his dad left to fight in World War two. His mother was able to take him to Florida by train so his dad my oldest brother could see him before he was shipped out to fight the war in Germany. I was a very young girl of 10 or 11 and was so thrilled to get to be with him and his mom so much. We really became good friends, very close and I loved him so much that we became friends for a lifetime. No matter how long it was that we were apart we stayed together in our hearts. I have a lifetime of memories of him, even when he was playing a joke or plan, Once he picked me up at his dads home and sat me down in a tub of water. Yes I had no change of clothes etc.
Another time he was showing me a new car. His, and standing by the door he informed me that if I could start the car,(keys were in the ignition) that I could drive it anywhere I wanted to go.. Now how hard could be. I turned the ignition,, ,, nothing... again nothing and I tried the third time, NOTHING.....With a serious look he took the keys,,, I got out and he sat down in the car,,,closed the door and the engine roared to life. The car was a thunderbird and the car would not shut with any door open. This is only the funniest ones> I wrote book reports for him in high school. Two I remember best was The Robe and Wuthering Heights. He got and A on both. But life moved on, he left home to work, we saw each other sometimes but not often enough. Loving him and remembering numerous other antics I will miss him even more...Rest in peace Jerry and when God calls me we will have a great reunion.
