Jerry Fred Haire, 65, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at home in St Petersburg, FL.
Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Jerry's journey led him to his cherished life in St. Petersburg, Florida. A man of limitless energy, passion, and resilience, Jerry carved an extraordinary path, leaving an indelible mark through successful ventures like Charlie's Oyster Palace, Carlie's Bar & Grill, Carlie's II, and the founding of The Landmark Company in 1980—a testament to his entrepreneurial spirit.
A beacon of strength and inspiration, Jerry's legacy extends far beyond his professional achievements. As a father of three, grandfather of nine, and friend to hundreds, Jerry's impact was immeasurable. He was a hero to those who knew him intimately, and his life was anchored in principles such as "If you don’t have enough; you’re not helping enough people" and "Leave people better than how you found them."
Jerry is survived by his son Justin, daughter-in-law Kerri, and their six children—Emerson, Trevor, Lachlan, Kelsey, Sloan, and Rowan—of Seminole, FL; his daughter Kimberly, son-in-law Andrew, and their three children—Olivia, Elizabeth, and Anna—of Evanston, IL; and his daughter Kendall, of St. Petersburg, FL. He is preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Bowling Lowe, his father Fred V Haire, and his sister Cynthia Elizabeth Haire.
A man of jovial spirit, Jerry will be remembered for his deep love for music, insatiable curiosity for life, and vibrant social nature. His life, a rich tapestry woven with threads of adventure, laughter, and camaraderie, will be missed eternally, leaving behind a void that can never be filled. His enduring legacy is the love and connection he fostered, as he was endeared and loved by countless individuals. While we mourn his physical absence, we find comfort in knowing that his spirit will live on within us forever. Rest in peace, JerBear. Until we meet again.
A visitation in memory of Jerry Fred Haire will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5750 49th Street North, St. Petersburg on Thursday, November 30th, from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life service starting at 3:00 pm. Family and friends are invited to gather at 6:00 pm to continue celebrating Jerry's life at Chill Restaurant & Bar, 357 Corey Ave, St Pete Beach.
