JB Jared's Obituary
Celebrating the Life of JB Jared
March 30th, 1937 – April 7th, 2026
We gather as family and friends to remember our beloved husband, dad, and grandpa, JB Jared. His kindness, hard work, support, compassion, and humility shaped every day he spent with us.
JB was born in McEwen, TN, and those small-town roots stayed with him. Even when life later took him to St. Petersburg, FL, he carried Tennessee warmth in his words and actions.
Sports lit up his days. He cheered for every Detroit home team and loved picking up a bat for a friendly baseball game whenever he could.
Music filled his home year-round. Christmas songs played in July, and old country tunes on SiriusXM never failed to make him smile.
Travel was JB’s favorite classroom. He explored so many places that we long ago stopped trying to keep count, each trip adding another story to share around the table.
Faith and family sat at the center of his life, and he showed his love for the Lord through steady deeds rather than big gestures. We felt that love in every phone call, visit, and quiet prayer he offered for us.
JB is survived by his wife Sue Jared; his son Gary Jared and daughter-in-law Nancy Jared; and his grandchildren Teresa Mazer, Edwin Stewart, Stephanie Pons, Amanda Bennett, Paige McWilliams, and Jillian Smith. He is reunited in peace with his first wife Joan Jared and their daughter Terry Jared.
We will keep sharing his stories, playing his favorite songs, and cheering for his teams. A simple online space has been set up for memories and photos, and you can visit it anytime at this online memorial.
Services will be held on Tuesday April 14th, 2026. Visitation will begin at 10:30 am with a funeral service held at 11:30 am. Interment will occur at 1 pm at Woodlawn Memory Gardens.
