Janet E Seaver-Meares' Obituary
Janet E. Seaver-Meares, 77, of St. Petersburg peacefully passed away on June 27, 2020 after many medical challenges for several years.
Janet was the youngest of 5 children born to Edward L. and Hazel F. Morse on January 9, 1943 in Medford, MA. In 1960 Janet Married James S. Seaver Jr., they had 4 children – Joyce A. Kelly, Jeane Seaver-Morehouse and twin boys James E. Seaver and John L. Seaver. Also children Donald Meares, Alysia Meares and Eli Meares.
Janet was a homemaker and gave her time and energy to her children. Janet and Jim also bred and showed Great Danes. When Janet moved to Florida she began to work outside of the home. James and Janet parted ways in 1981. Janet then married Donald W. Meares, Senior and between them they had 7 children, 8 grandchildren (Robert Williams, Christopher Kelly, David Morehouse, Shawn Nicholson, Mason Meares, Eliana Meares and twins Isaac and Isla Meares) as well as 3 great-grandchildren.
Janet retired from Kane’s Furniture after 20 years of service in December of 2016. Her retirement was the result of health conditions that required her to be on oxygen.
Janet was very creative and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and sewing. She loved to make her own clothes and her passion was her orchids that she grew at her home. Janet was the glue that held her family together.
