Mrs. Janet Thompson Halstead's Obituary
Halstead, Janet Joy (Thompson), of St. Petersburg, died Nov. 22, 2010, after a brief illness. Born in Cincinnati, OH. Jan came here from Ft. Wayne, IN, in 1963. She and her husband were owners and publishers of the Baseball Blue Book, Inc. for many years until retirement. "Granny Jan" was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Pasadena Card Club, an avid reader, a hobby organist, and a dedicated Tampa Bay Rays fan. She was a Protestant. Mom achieved Life Master pursuing her passion of contract bridge. Jan was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Earle Wilson Halstead and her son Larry Halstead. She is survived by her son Jerry Halstead, of Seminole; and grandchildren Elizabeth Ann Halstead, of Clearwater, Ryan Halstead, of St. Petersburg, Katherine Marie Halstead, of Ft. Myers, Matthew Earle Halstead, of Mendoza, Argentina, Emerson Ward Halstead, of Silver Spring, Maryland; and brother James Philip Thompson, of Waukesha, WI. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend and is dearly loved. A celebration of her life will be held at 2 pm, Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010, at the Magnolia Clubhouse, Five Towns, 7950 58 Ave N, St. Petersburg.
