FREEH, Janet M. 85, of St. Petersburg, FL, passed away May 2, 2017. She was born in Plymouth, MI, and moved to St. Petersburg in 1982. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Edwin J. Freeh Jr. Janet was a beautician in Detroit, MI, before she met the love of her life, “Eddie.” They had three beautiful daughters and she became First Lady when her husband was Mayor of Garden City, MI. She is survived by brother, Richard Gray of Northville, MI; daughters, Carol Gruich and husband, Gary, Connie VanDam and husband, Ken, and Laura Rainey. She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, Jason Howton and wife, Jessica, Jeff Howton, Crystal Hill and husband, Travis, Aaron VanDam, Ricky Howton and wife, Francisca, Sgt. John VanDam and wife, Hailey, Nichole Wagner and husband, Justin, Ryan Gruich, Kyle Gruich, and Rebecca Rainey; 10 great-grandchildren, Jeffrey Howton, Ashton Howton, Harper Howton, Banner Howton, Bailey Hill, Makayla Wagner, Bryson Howton, Grace Hill, Lillian VanDam, and Elijah VanDam. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 4, 6-8 pm, and Funeral will be held May 5, 11 am, officiated by Major James Farrell, at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5750 49th St. N., St. Petersburg, FL 33709, (727) 527-1196.
