James Irvine Thornton's Obituary
Thornton, James Irvine Of Seminole, passed on Sept. 22, 2011. He was born July 9th, 1919 in Royal Park, MI. He graduated from Miami University of Ohio, and was an Army officer in World War II. Beloved wife, Jane Watkins Thornton preceded him in death in 2003. They had three children, James C. Thornton, Atlanta, GA.; Barbara (and Michael) Elliot , Rome, GA.; and Kay (and Tim) Condron, North Redington Beach; grandchildren Jane (and Tim) Adams, Rome, GA; David (and Christy) Condron , St. Petersburg; Matthew (and Julie) Elliot, Acworth, GA; Paul (and Jennifer) Condron , Fayetteville. AR; Daniel Condron , Madeira Beach, Jennifer (and Russell) Walters, Menifee, CA and 6 great-grandchildren. Retired with ECI in 1981. Was as a treasurer with The Southeast Federation Mineralogical Societies. Inc. and the local Suncoast Gem & Mineral Society. Volunteer Tudor with Junior Achievement & Tyrone Jr. High School for 20 years. A service celebrating Mr. Thornton's life will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2011at @ the Oakhurst UMC, 13400 Park Blvd N., Seminole, FL 33776. Visitation will be held at 10AM at the church before the 11AM worship service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the music program of Oakhurst UMC.
