James R. "Jim" "Pop Pop" Keeler's Obituary
Keeler, James R. "Jim" "Pop Pop", 85, of Pinellas Park died on Thursday July 29, 2010 at Morton Plant Hospital. He was born in Dublin, PA., the son of the late Oswin and Katie (Yoder) Keeler. He served in the US Navy during WW II and moved to the area in 1966 from Bucks County, PA. He worked as a truck driver for MAAS Brothers, Today's Woman, and Artistic Flowers until he retired in 2007. He was a long standing member of American Legion Post #0280, MacCalla Lodge # 596 F &A.M., he was a 32 degree Mason - Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Petersburg. He was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Ruth Keeler and infant son Stephen Keeler. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Thomas Davis, Tampa, FL; a grandson and his wife, Christopher and Destiny Stull, Greenville, TX; a niece, Linda Derstine, Perkasie, PA; a nephew, John Nase, Philadelphia, PA; and many cousins and dear friends. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on August 14, 2010 at Trinity Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, donations to the James R. Keeler Fund - c/o Trinity Lutheran Church - 401 5th St. N. St. Petersburg, FL 33701.
