I was privileged to know Jim & Peggy for a number of years. mostly thru music. I remember fondly the Friday nights at their house, tho I was not able to attend in recent years. I will always think of Jim's signature song "Far Side Banks of Jordan"

I was taking Dobro lessons and my teacher told me I was ready to join a slow Jam. He told me about a jam at Jim and Peggy Kaufmans house on Friday nights. When Friday rolled around I went to their place where Jim conducted a Jam on Friday evenings . He welcomed me in and accepted me like I was one of the family,and he had never met me before I showed up at his jam. I will never forget the friedship and hospitality he showed me on that night and the friendship that enjoyed with him after that.
