Uncle James, I have been missing you these many years since mom passed. Now that miss is going to be much deeper. You were always a bright light in my life. You made Holidays special when you visited us in California. You had the ability to make Mom's already special Holiday happenings even grander. My children (who were 5, 6, 7) remember the year you filled the Easter eggs with money instead of candy. I am sure Mom and all the family are rejoicing your arrival in Heaven. Uncle James you will be missed. I remember the days when you came home on leave from the airforce. We always played cards and there was always time for us kids. I know you are with Aunt Geri and Uncle Clark and there is more suffering.
Aunt Sue, I am so sorry for your loss. I remember how much you and Uncle James loved my children when we moved there 18 yrs ago. I have the fond memory of coming home one day after job hunting and Casey ( 3 yrs ) was playing dress-up with Uncle James. She had put ribbons and clips all over his head and a scarf around his neck. He looked happy and Casey was so proud of what a good job she had done. And there was another time when Uncle James said that Chase would walk and told me to get the video camera and he had you call for Chase and sure enough Chase stood up and those were his very first steps there in your livingroom. These memories are very special to me and when I watch the tape and hear Uncle James's voice telling us what to do so that we get Chase's first steps on video, I smile and cry at the same time. I will miss Uncle James but I do have great memories that give me comfort.
Uncle James, I am going to miss you! My visit we had planned for March will never happen now. I enjoyed our phone calls and our last one was truly very special. We laughed and joked about several things. When I think about it, I smile and I am thankful we had such a great conversation that day. You are in a better place and that gives me comfort..
