Iva Mae Donald's Obituary
Beloved wife, mother, and Mimmy, Iva Mae Donald, 90, of St. Petersburg Florida, went to be with her Savior on Monday, September 23, 2019, under the care of Suncoast Hospice in Pinellas Park.
Iva was born April 3, 1929 in DeHue, West Virginia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon (Jimmy) Donald, her parents: Andrew Frazier and Flo Murphy; her 2 brothers, and her son, David.
Iva is survived by her son, Alvan Donald, eight grandchildren: Jackie Donovan, Christy Winans, Jeffrey Donald, David Donald, Chase Donald, Elizabeth Abbott, John Donald, and Micah Donald; ten great grandchildren: Jonathan Heers, Christopher Heers, Ori Heers, Joshua Donovan, Chloe Winans, Benjamin Winans, Evelyn Strait, Lincoln Donald, Ophelia Donald, and Keegan Donald; four great-great grandchildren: Danica Heers, Sophie Heers, Sienna Heers, and Scarlett Heers; one brother Edward Frazier, one sister Gladys Hamer, the husbands and wives of the above, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Thank you to her home caregivers: Andrea, Angela, Shalonna, and Theresa; Hospice, and family for all the loving care given over the past years.
Iva completed high school and went to Business School in Huntington, WV. She then went to work as a Key Punch Operator with the railroad. She married the love of her life, Jimmy, in 1945 and spent several years as a Homemaker raising their two sons. They moved to St. Petersburg in 1973, and after returning to the workplace she held positions as a Secretary, ending her career as the Administrative Assistant to the Fire Chief of the St. Petersburg Fire Department. She was a Pentecostal and member of Suncoast Cathedral church in St. Petersburg. Iva loved family gatherings, going shopping with the girls, attending evangelical conferences, and her competitive side came out when she bowled on her weekly league. She was a good listener, had a calm spirit, and always had kind words to say no matter what the circumstance. She will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be conducted at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5750 49th Street, North, St. Petersburg, FL 33709. Viewing will be at 2:00pm with services starting at 3pm on Saturday, October 5, 2019 and funeral procession directly following at Memorial Park Cemetery.
