Irene B. Mauro's Obituary
Irene B. Mauro of St. Petersburg, Florida, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Bon Secours Maria Manor after some recent health challenges. She was 90. Irene was born March 20, 1927 in Pawtucket, Rhode Island; one of twelve children of the late Philip and Cedulia Tousignant.
She pursued many different career opportunities throughout her lifetime before her retirement. Irene was strong in her faith and an active member of the Holy Family Parish of St. Petersburg and the Women's Club at the church. In her free time, she enjoyed playing cards and going to bingo. Irene was a feisty and fun loving spirit who brought joy and laughter with here everywhere she went. She will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 25+ years, John Mauro (2002) and her brothers and sisters; Yvonne, Estelle, Gladys, Raymond, Leon, Wilfred, Edgar, Hector and Paul.
Irene is survived by her sister, Claire Coyle; a brother Louis Tousignant and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Memorial Mass will be held 2pm Friday, January 5, 2018 at Holy Family Catholic Church 200 78th Avenue N, St. Petersburg, FL 33702. She will be laid to rest with her husband, John, in Memorial Park Cemetery 5750 49th St. N, St. Petersburg, FL 33709.
