Irene Buchalter's Obituary
Irene Buchalter, 95, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2025, surrounded by several family members. Born on November 12, 1929, in Brooklyn, NY, Irene spent her early life working and living in the bustling N.Y. City environment. After the birth of her first child, she dedicated her life to creating a warm and nurturing home for her husband of 70 years, Howard, and their three children.
Irene’s greatest joy came from spending time with her family and fostering a loving environment. Her generosity within the family was well known. Lasagna and homemade Cheesecake at holiday gatherings were eagerly anticipated by family and friends alike. Her love for people was displayed when friends and family visited her and her husband at their idyllic house in the mountains of North Carolina and their lovely coastal home in Palm Coast, Florida.
She is survived by her children Linda Peters, Stephen Buchalter, and David Buchalter, three grandchildren, Michele Reese, Gregg Peters, and Kelly Lembke, and many great grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Blessed Sacrement Catholic Church on February 22nd at 10:30 AM. Irene will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery at 12:30 PM following mass
